Looking for a place to host an event? You’ve got Buckeye Raceway. Without the tweaks, I doubt I'd return but still had fun for a one-time outing.Ohio in general has lots of good Go-Kart Tracks, but especially in Columbus, there are a lot of choices. With some tweaks, this place would good from good to amazing. That being said, the group did have fun.Īll in all, it is fun and well-priced. gray in the dark? This ruined the whole experience for me. I get the desire for real-life situations, but come on. *The biggest complaint of all: YOU CAN'T TELL WHO IS ON WHAT TEAM. One person in our group was even accidentally charged an extra $400 to their credit card. *Check-in for a group is cumbersome and a bit disorganized. *There needs to be scores and winners announced. Sure, this is available online, but few people are going to research it in advance. *Sentries need to explain the differences between the weapons. For example, I was knocked out before the combat even started. *Sentries need to better regulate what is going on (e.g., instructions, reminding people to wait to start shooting until the siren goes off, etc.). Similar to previous reviews, here are my suggestions for improvement: I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you.īest laser tag ever. I also reached a conclusion about the best weapon. I figured-out a couple different strategies I'd like to use next time. It seems like that variety will keep the experience fresh for return players. The missions were in different arenas, each mission had a different objective, and I used a different weapon for each mission. There is food, a full bar, and a big open area with several tables. I think this would be a good place for a party, too. I can definitely see coming here with friends my own age and with my teen-age daughter. Once we started playing though, it didn't matter. The weapons look and feel real, there are three huge 'arenas' designed to simulate different environments, and the games are played in 'missions' with varying objectives.Īt 45, I was older than most of the other players. It turns out 'combat sports' is a pretty good description. We decided on Hard Knocks.Īlthough Hard Knocks advertises the activity as 'combat sports', I was still a little skeptical.until I tried it. I'm 45, and I was looking for a cool activity to do with my wife's 19-year-old cousin who was in town for a couple days. This is not your typical laser tag, and it's not just for kids. I think about laser tag as an activity for kids. Again, I'm sorry you didn't get into one - you should have had the opportunity. We try to please everyone with selected individual scoring missions. We actually have guests who do not want scoring, also. Some missions aren't compatible with the scoring system and the extra data download step can decrease playing time for parties. The scoring is run on weekends, but not on all missions. The mission boards should have the winning team posted, and the Sentries should announce a winner in the arenas for those still alive. I apologize for the scoring not being available or a winner not identified. It is supposed to be somewhat difficult, but not impossible. We want combatants to look first, then shoot (if it's the enemy, not a friendly). We try to keep the environment as realistic as possible, which is why we don't have brightly colored uniforms or vests that are alway lit. Hello Scooterpie77 - Thank you for visiting us and providing the rating and feedback. Overall it was a good time but I felt that with a few changes it could have been really great. I felt like the workers were just trying to get as many people through as possible with no time spent on reviewing the game at all. I also didn't know on 3/4 games whether my team won or not. I was told the leaderboards and individual stats were not available because it was too tough to do on the weekends with all the missions. Why pick two colors that are so tough to tell the difference?Ģ) Leaderboards/Overall. We had a mission where we had glow sticks and that was the first time all day I was sure of who was on my team. The reasons I didn't give a five star review were the following.ġ) The two team colors are grey and tan.with the combat arenas being semi dark I had no idea who was on what team. This was probably the coolest laser tag I've done due to the different missions and guns that were available. Was here for my nephew's birthday party and had a good time.
